This journey started coz I just wanted a cool adblocker at home that I can run on my Raspberry Pi that Ebrahim had got from the US.

What the fuck is a Home Lab and why should I care?

I mean, it’s okay if you don’t. You don’t really need it. It’s just really cool to have

A “Home Lab” is rough speak for having one or more dedicated physical servers in your house. The main benefit is that you can run all sorts of cool applications right from the privacy of your home1.

You don’t wanna pay 6500rs a month for 2TB of Google Drive storage? BAM, put a 2TB hard drive in your home lab and run NextCloud on it. You got your own “Google drive” at home.

You don’t wanna pay 1000 bucks a month to Netflix only for them to remove Friends right when you wanted to binge it? BAM, download FRIENDS from wherever you want (or rip a box set) and put it on Jellyfin. Now you’ve got Netflix at home.

I ain’t go into setting up each and every application over here. There are plenty of great guides for the same. Imma just describe what I’ve got going and how you can replicate the same.

Hosts all my *arr applications, downloaders, and where I do my “DevOps”-giri. I love this thing so much.
