Got this as a birthday gift from Jeru. It perfectly fits in my latest obsession with small games with more max players (I think it’s coz the group is now bigger), and also being simple to pick up. I am now tired of explaining complicated rules.

That being said, this game isn’t exactly… Simple. It just has less rules. It’s one of those “opinion” based games, like Mysterium, where the judge is also playing along with the players, and the judge’s creative charisma also comes into picture.

Basically, there are these statements (riddles) that hide a whole story behind them. Everyone playing (except the riddle master) has to guess the deranged story behind the riddle asked.

For example, if the riddle statement is “Jonathan took a step back , and he died”, there is a macabre story behind this statement. The players have to ask a series of YES or NO questions to be able to piece together the story. The granular details till which the players have to guess the story is upto the riddle master.

The game is designed keeping in mind the principle of Lateral Thinking.

Rules

  1. Questions can be asked only in the form of YES or NO questions.
  2. Top 5 questions get a token to signify that they’ve asked an important question that unravels part of the story.
  3. At the end of whatever number of rounds, whoever gets the most tokens wins.

To be honest that’s literally it. The rest is upto the group playing if they want some house rules, like if anyone get’s a good question everyone else takes a shot, etc. Rules 2 and 3 can also be changed as per the group.
