Lack of financial education is probably a big reason why so many adults really struggle with some basic concepts. For example, Me.

Schools and educational institutes should really look into making kids understand what savings, compounding, investments, etc. are. Too much emphasis is being given to the stock market and that’s frankly too advanced a topic that is quite risky in itself.

At least the basics should be covered. Instead of teaching kids about Mitochondria and all, it’ll be worthwhile to explain what to expect once they start earning.

Of course, that might give the kids a sense of impending doom too. Once they learn that ~50% of their money is gonna to fund broken roads and social unrest, they might just become nihilistic buggers.
